Head of BP BUMN Explains the Reason for the Former TNI General to Be Selected as Peruri's President Director

JAKARTA - Head of the State-Owned Enterprise Management Agency (BP) Dony Oskaria revealed the reason for the change of leadership at Perum Peruri. Now, the position of the company's chief director is filled by a former TNI general.

The change of leadership of Perum Peruri refers to the Decree (SK) BP BUMB Number: 345 Year 2026 and SK Number: 346 Year 2026 regarding the Dismissal and Appointment of the President Director and Chairman of the Peruri Supervisory Board dated July 15, 2026.

Referring to the SK, BP BUMN appointed Teguh Arief Indratmoko as President Director of Perum Peruri. Teguh is a retired TNI Army (AD) who had served as the Commander-in-Chief of the TNI Academy.

Dony confirmed that there had been a change in the President Director of Peruri. However, he admitted that he had not directly followed the results of the General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS) because he was still in a meeting when the announcement was made.

"I think... if it is announced, yes, because I was inside. But the decision is already there," Dony told reporters, quoted by Thursday, July 16.

Regarding Teguh's background from the military world, Dony said the placement of directors in each SOE was carried out based on the company's needs, including considering Peruri's strategic function in the field of security.

"Oh, it depends on our needs. So all the placement of directors, it depends on our needs. What do we need. Peruri is actually a company for those who are guarded by security, security, and so on," he said.

According to Dony, Peruri has a different role from commercial companies in general. In addition to carrying out business activities, the company also carries out strategic functions to support the interests of the state.

"Peruri is more of a government tool to control... because this is not a commercial company, right, actually," he said.
