Indonesian Version of Laddaland Adaptation Film Releases Official Poster and Trailer, Showing on August 13
JAKARTA - The production house MD Pictures officially introduced their highly anticipated latest horror project, Laddaland Housing. This film is an official adaptation of the hit Thai horror film, Laddaland (2011), which is now packaged with a local touch by horror specialist director, Awi Suryadi.
In the launch of the poster and trailer (trailer) event, MD Pictures gave an overview of the terror that will haunt Indonesian cinemas starting next month.
Director Awi Suryadi, who was successful through KKN in Desa Penari, revealed that Laddaland Housing has a special place in his heart. Unlike horror films in general which only rely on jump scares, this film is said to have a strong emotional depth.
"What distinguishes Laddaland Housing is that this is my saddest horror film. I watched it many times crying. This time I really feel that it is not moving from the horror, but following the journey of this family," said Awi Suryadi as quoted by VOI from a media broadcast, Thursday, July 16.
In line with Awi, the writer of the script Lele Laila promises a classic horror experience that is close to everyday life.
"We want to sell the horror experience that comes from the house, the neighborhood where you live," he said.
The story centers on Tomy (Andri Mashadi) who decides to take out a mortgage on an elite housing complex called Laddaland to make his wife and two children happy.
However, the dream of having a comfortable life suddenly disappeared. The happiness of this family turned into a series of mystical terror after the news of the mysterious death of a domestic worker in the neighborhood emerged.
Despite his wife and children being haunted by the horrific apparition, Tomy, obsessed with his dream house, refuses to move, unaware of the great danger that threatens their safety.
This film is starred by a line-up of top actors, ranging from Titi Kamal, Andri Mashadi, to a row of supporting actors such as Adjis Doa Ibu and Sarah Tumiwa.
Not only the script, Lele Laila also premiered to be involved in writing the original soundtrack (OST) of this film. MD Music producer, Jerrico Escondore, said the song would summarize the family drama and horror side of the film, which is scheduled to be released on digital platforms on July 31, 2026.
For horror film lovers, Laddaland Housing is ready to present the contrast between family warmth and gripping terror in all Indonesian cinemas starting August 13.
