Ford Brings Everest and Ranger Platinum to Indonesia, Now with a 3.0-liter V6 Engine
JAKARTA - Ford RMA Indonesia is expanding its product line in the country by introducing the highest variant for the Ford Everest and Ford Ranger, namely Platinum. The model was introduced on Wednesday, July 15, and its presence complements Ford's SUV and double cabin pickup truck lineup in the country.
In the SUV line, the Ford Everest Platinum occupies the position as the highest variant above the Everest Titanium which previously used a 2,000 cc Bi-Turbo diesel engine. Meanwhile, the Ford Ranger Platinum is the highest variant in the Ranger family, above the Ranger Wildtrak, outside the performance variant of the Ranger Raptor.
Regional Director of Ford International Markets Group Roelof Lamberts, said the launch of this latest product range is part of the evolution of the Ford Tough strategy, which is now combined with premium comfort and modern technology.
"Our customers should not have to choose between luxury and capability. They need both," said Roelof at the launch of Ford RMA Indonesia products in Bogor.
In terms of design, the Ford Everest Platinum is equipped with LED Projector headlights with Intelligent Lighting which are combined with daytime running lights (DRL) as standard features. This SUV is also equipped with LED fog lights front and rear, rain sensitive windshield wipers, electric mirrors that can be folded with heating and puddle lamps.
Then there is also a silver matte step bar, black powder coated roof rack, panoramic dual-panel sunroof, to an electric tailgate with a hands-free feature. The dimensions of the Everest Platinum have a length of 4,914 mm, a width of 1,923 mm, a height of 1,841 mm, a wheelbase of 2,900 mm, and a ground clearance of 227 mm.
Entering the cabin, the Everest Platinum offers a more luxurious feel through a leather-wrapped steering wheel with heating and multimedia control features, vinyl door trim, an audio system with 12 speakers and a subwoofer, and an ATC Electronic Dual Zone Air Conditioner. In addition, there is wireless charging, USB ports on the windscreen mount, dual USB for the second row, 12V sockets in the third row, and driver seats with full electric settings and memory functions.
In terms of safety, this SUV has been equipped with an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) package which includes Collision Mitigation System, Secondary Collision Mitigation/Post Impact Braking, Electronic Speed Limiting Device, Adaptive Speed Control-Stop/Go, Driver Impairment Monitor, Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Alert with Trailer Lite, Lane Change Warning and Aid with Lane Center Assist, Reverse Parking Aid, Front Parking Aid, Reverse Brake Assist, Front/Side/Rear View Camera, to Auto High Headlamp.
The most significant update is in the engine sector, the Ford Everest Platinum now carries a 3.0L 4V DOHC V6 diesel engine with a capacity of 2,993 cc which produces 183.8 kW or about 250 PS at 3,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 600 Nm at 1,750-2,250 rpm.
The power is channeled through an electronic 10-speed automatic transmission combined with a full-time four-wheel drive (4WD) system. In the double cabin pickup segment, the Ford Ranger Platinum also gets a similar upgrade.
In addition to Platinum, there are also Sport and Wildtrak variants. Although using the same platform, each offers a different character in terms of performance, features, and comfort.
The Ford Ranger Sport is equipped with a 4-cylinder, turbo diesel engine with a capacity of 2,000 cc that produces more than 167 hp with 405 Nm of torque. The power is channeled through a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Meanwhile, the Ranger Wildtrak and Ranger Platinum rely on a 3,000 cc turbo diesel V6 engine. This performance is combined with a 10-speed automatic transmission 10R80 and a full-time four-wheel drive system.
To support safety and driving comfort, the Ford Ranger Platinum is also equipped with the same ADAS package as the Everest Platinum. The price for all models will be announced at the GIIAS 2026 event, which will take place on July 29, 2026.
In addition to introducing new vehicles, Ford also confirmed its commitment to expanding the ownership experience through investments in dealer networks, after-sales services, spare parts supply, and roadside assistance services.
General Manager of Marketing Ford RMA Indonesia Irhan Farhan explained that changing consumer needs were the main reason behind the strategy.
