Sayuti Melik's Son Treated at the Ministry of Social Affairs Center, Medical Expenses Covered

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Social Affairs has brought the child of the writer of the Proclamation, Sayuti Melik, to a social services facility in Bekasi. He will receive treatment, social assistance, and health checks until his condition is considered sufficient to return to his residence.

Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf said officers picked up the beneficiary after receiving information about his condition. Initial assessment was then carried out before he was taken to the Kemensos facility.

"Now it's in STPL Bekasi. After we get the information, we pick him up at his house, we do an assessment, while we invite him to STPL Bekasi," said Saifullah Yusuf at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Wednesday, July 15.

At this place, the beneficiaries receive temporary housing services. Kemensos also prepares assistance from doctors and social workers while determining the next steps.

"There is support from doctors and social companions, while we determine what the next steps are," said the man who is familiarly called Gus Ipul.

According to Gus Ipul, the service is not permanent. The stay is given for a certain period of time and can be extended according to the results of the assessment and the development of the beneficiary's condition.

The Ministry of Social Affairs has not yet determined the next place of residence after the mentoring period is completed. Gus Ipul said the decision would be adjusted to the needs and results of monitoring.

"We will assess, we will accompany it according to its needs. In principle, we serve so that it is complete," he said.

He ensured that the need for treatment would be covered. The Ministry of Social Affairs will coordinate with BPJS Kesehatan and other parties to meet the medical services needed.

"Yes, everything will be covered. We will coordinate with BPJS Kesehatan and other parties," said Gus Ipul.
