Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono remembers the figure of Sheikh Hamad, the figure who built the foundation of bilateral Indonesia-Qatar relations.

Jakarta - Foreign Minister (Menlu) Sugiono expressed his condolences over the death of the Emir of Qatar from 1995 to 2013, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

He conveyed this when accompanying President Prabowo Subianto to express his condolences directly at the State of Qatar Embassy in Jakarta, Wednesday, July 15.

Foreign Minister Sugiono remembered Sheikh Hamad as a visionary leader who brought about major changes for Qatar to become a country that is influential in the world today.

For Foreign Minister Sugiono, Sheikh Hamad also played a major role in strengthening the friendship between Qatar and Indonesia. He said Sheikh Hamad had a major role in building the foundation of bilateral relations that have continued to grow to this day.
