Based on the results of the Green and Smart Port (GSP) assessment, TUKS Petrokimia Gresik managed to achieve the title of the best national port. The assessment was carried out comprehensively based on the Green and Smart Port Guidelines 3.0/2023 which refers to national regulations and international best practices.
The national best port predicate was achieved after TUKS Petrokimia Gresik recorded a final value of 94 percent in the Green and Smart Port (GSP) assessment, an increase from the 82 percent achievement in 2022. This achievement is the result of the implementation of the Green and Smart Port principles consistently through strengthening port governance, energy efficiency, integrated digital-based operational systems, and sustainable innovation to support the smooth supply of raw materials for the production process and the distribution of fertilizer to various regions of Indonesia.
In his remarks, Coordinating Minister Zulhas said that food security is not only determined by production results. A reliable logistics system is also the key to ensuring that food can reach all regions of Indonesia effectively and efficiently.
"Ports are strategic nodes that connect production, distribution, and food availability throughout Indonesia. Therefore, the transformation of ports into a green and smart ecosystem is no longer an option, but a necessity," said Coordinating Minister Zulhas.
He added, GSPI ASRI is not just an award event. This program is a platform to strengthen mutual commitment in building a competitive port, supporting food security, while maintaining environmental sustainability.
According to him, the government will also continue to improve the implementation of the ASRI GSPI through strengthening assessment instruments, improving the ASRI aspect, and expanding the participation of ports in various regions so that the transformation of the port sector runs faster.
On this occasion, Coordinating Minister Zulhas and his ministry staff reviewed a number of facilities at TUKS Petrokimia Gresik which showed the implementation of aspects of sustainability, safety, operational efficiency, and digitization in port management.
Director of Petrokimia Gresik, Daconi Khotob, said the award was an acknowledgment of the company's commitment to developing port management that is not only reliable in terms of operations, but also prioritizes safety, sustainability, innovation, and digitization.
"For us, the port is a strategic infrastructure that ensures the smooth supply of raw materials for the production process and the distribution of fertilizers to various regions of Indonesia to support national food sovereignty. This award is an appreciation for the hard work of all Petrokimia Gresik people and the support of stakeholders in presenting port management that is increasingly green, smart, and competitive," said Daconi.
He emphasized that the award was a motivation for the company to continue to carry out sustainable transformation.
"We will not stop at this award. In the future, we will continue to maximize port transformation through strengthening digitalization, improving safety standards, service efficiency, and sustainable innovation to be able to provide added value for companies while supporting the national food logistics system," said Daconi.
The GSPI ASRI 2026 award is an important milestone for Petrokimia Gresik in strengthening the transformation of a green and smart port-based port. This commitment is expected to further strengthen the company's role in supporting an efficient, sustainable national logistics system, and supporting Indonesia's food security.
