Trump Holds Meeting to Discuss Attacks on Iran in the Situation Room
JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump held a meeting at the White House Situation Room, discussing a large-scale attack on Iran with a wider scope than the current attack in the Strait of Hormuz region.
According to a report by Axios, Wednesday, July 15, as reported by ANTARA, senior US officials who attended the meeting included Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.
The meeting focused on new plans for attacks on strategic targets in Iran beyond the ongoing operation in the Strait of Hormuz, the sources told Axios.
Since July 8, the US military has launched several waves of attacks against Iran. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that the attacks were a response to Iran's "interference" in commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran also retaliated by launching attacks on US military bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan.
