Rising in June, National Motorcycle Sales in Semester 1 2026 Reaches 3.1 Million Units
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI) recorded motorcycle sales in the domestic market from January to June 2026 reached 3,129,587 units. This achievement shows growth of 0.8 percent compared to the same period in 2025.
This also indicates that the national two-wheel industry is still able to survive in the midst of a dynamic market condition. In addition to sales in the country, the performance of motorcycle exports in the form of complete or Completely Built Up (CBU) is still maintained.
Throughout Semester I 2026, the total export of CBU was recorded at 316,819 units. On a monthly basis, market movements show fluctuations, if you look at the data on the official AISI website, Tuesday, July 14.
The year started with sales of 577,763 units in January, then increased to 587,354 units in February, which was also the highest achievement during the first six months of this year.
Entering March, the market slowed down with sales falling to 448,974 units, making it the month with the lowest sales volume in Semester I 2026. The condition began to improve in April when sales again broke through the 500 thousand unit level, namely 520,972 units.
Even though it weakened again to 479,388 units in May, the market managed to rebound in June. AISI recorded sales this year reached 515,136 units, an increase of 7.5 percent compared to May on a monthly basis (month-on-month).
Previously, the Head of the Commercial Sector of AISI, Sigit Kumala, assessed that the national motorcycle market still has room to grow despite facing various economic challenges throughout this year.
"Considering the various conditions and challenges that may occur this year, we project that the domestic motorcycle market will be relatively stable this year at 6.4 million-6.7 million units," he said, recently.
