Kejaksaan Bentuk Tim Khusus Tangani Kasus Eks Jampidsus
JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) has formed a special team to handle corruption and money laundering cases (TPPU) that dragged former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) FA (Febrie Adriansyah).
"We will form a special team of investigators. We will study what the case is like, what it is based on the existing examination report, based on the existing evidence, in relation to the alleged criminal act," said Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) of the Attorney General's Office, Anang Supriatna at the Attorney General's Main Building, Jakarta, Monday.
The formation of the team was after the National Police transferred the handling of corruption and TPPU cases to the Prosecutor's Office.
Anang explained that the special team would be formed by the Acting Jampidsus Rudi Margono and contain certain people to minimize conflict of interest with the FA.
Even though he was transferred, he ensured that the Attorney General's Office would continue to coordinate well with the Polri investigators to ensure independence and professionalism.
In addition, the Attorney General's Office will also involve the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to supervise the handling of the case.
"And also yesterday from the members of the Commission III of the DPR RI will also supervise the implementation of the investigation process for this case," he added.
He emphasized that the Attorney General's Office still holds the principle of caution and upholds the principle of presumption of innocence in handling cases.
"The principle of caution and upholding the principle of presumption of innocence we still put forward as long as there is no final or inkrah decision. The principle is like that," he said.
On Saturday (11/7), the National Police announced that the handling of the case had been transferred to the Attorney General's Office.
The transfer was carried out based on an agreement between the National Police and the Attorney General's Office as a form of synergy in law enforcement.
Meanwhile, the police have named FA and DR (Don Ritto) as suspects in the alleged corruption and TPPU cases.
The determination of the suspect was carried out after the National Police's Corruption Eradication Task Force (Kortastipidkor) together with the Metro Jaya Police conducted a joint investigation of three cases, namely alleged corruption in coal governance, alleged corruption of PT Asabri and PT Jiwasraya for the period 2020-2025, and alleged money laundering in the settlement of PT CBS's debt to PT KNI.
