BNI Emphasizes Jember KUR Case Started from the Company's Report

JAKARTA - PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI confirmed that the legal process related to alleged irregularities in the distribution of People's Credit (KUR) in the Jember area, East Java, was a follow-up to a report submitted by BNI to law enforcement officials.

The report has been submitted by BNI since 2024 after the company found indications of irregularities in the credit submission and distribution process. This step is a form of BNI's proactive efforts in maintaining the governance of credit distribution and the application of the principle of prudence.

"This case started with BNI's report to law enforcement after the company found indications of irregularities in the process of applying for and distributing credit. BNI respects the ongoing legal process and is cooperative in the investigation process," Okki said in a written statement.

Okki explained that the reporting step was part of BNI's commitment to maintaining credit distribution governance and the application of the principle of prudence. BNI ensures that any indication of violations is followed up through internal mechanisms and applicable legal channels.

In this case, the alleged irregularities relate to the process of distributing KUR in the Jember area. BNI has conducted an internal investigation and taken steps to deal with parties who have been proven to have violated company regulations.

"BNI applies the principle of zero tolerance to all forms of fraud and violations. If there are internal and external parties who are proven to have committed violations, BNI ensures that it is followed up in accordance with the provisions of laws and internal company regulations," said Okki.
