Vietnam Airlines Re-Listed as Asia's Best Workplace for its Inclusive Work Culture
JAKARTA - Competitive salaries are no longer the only reason for someone to stay at a company. For many workers, especially the younger generation, a healthy work environment, opportunities to grow, and an inclusive culture are now important factors in choosing a place to work.
This change in perspective is also reflected in various awards in the world of work that no longer only assess the performance of a company's business, but also how organizations build a positive work experience for their employees.
One of them is the HR Asia Awards which every year gives awards to companies with human resource practices that are considered superior, high employee engagement levels, and strong work culture in the Asian region.
This year, one of the companies that returned to the list was the airline Vietjet, which for the sixth time was named the Best Companies to Work For in Asia.
In addition, the company also received the HR Asia Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) Award, which is given to organizations with a commitment to creating an inclusive work environment and providing equal opportunities for all employees.
Currently, the world of work is increasingly competitive, corporate culture is indeed one aspect that is increasingly being paid attention to. A work environment that is open to diversity is considered capable of encouraging collaboration as well as providing space for each individual to develop regardless of background.
This approach is also reflected in the composition of Vietjet's workforce, which involves nearly 10,000 employees and experts from more than 68 countries and regions. This diversity is part of the company's efforts to bring a broader perspective in running a business that operates across countries.

Not only about diversity, human resource development is also one of the factors that many modern companies pay attention to. The opportunity to attend training, improve skills, to prepare for career levels is an added value that is increasingly sought after by workers.
To support this, Vietjet is developing various training programs through the Victoria Aviation Academy (VIAA). These programs include international standard flight training, leadership development, to specialist training guided by professionals in the aviation industry.
In addition to learning opportunities, employee welfare is also an important part of building a positive work culture. Many companies are starting to provide supporting facilities, such as sports rooms, community areas, and spaces to rest so that employees have a balance between productivity and health.
Various activities outside of work, ranging from sports, cultural activities, to internal communities, are also increasingly being implemented as a way to build relationships between employees and create a more comfortable work environment.
This trend shows that the definition of the ideal workplace continues to evolve. If previously companies were judged more by the size of the compensation offered, now the work culture, opportunities to grow, attention to mental health, and an inclusive environment are equally important factors.
