JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung asked the public to provide the actual data during the 2026 Economic Census. According to him, the honesty of the public is a determinant of the quality of data that will be used by the government as a basis for formulating economic policies.

The message was conveyed by Pramono during the inauguration of a joint commitment to the implementation of the 2026 Economic Census in DKI Jakarta Province with the Central Statistics Agency (BPS).

"I appeal to Jakarta residents wherever they are, whenever they are, who are then censused, to convey what it is. Because this is the key word in our decision-making going forward. Pramono explained that the census results would be an important reference for the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government in photographing the economic conditions of the community according to reality. Therefore, he hopes that the data collected is really accurate and reflects the actual situation.

"I hope that the data will be accurate for the 2026 Census, so that we will all be helped in making decisions using correct data, competitive data, data that really reflects and reflects the actual state of the community," said Pramono.

Adding, the Head of BPS RI Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti invited the public to accept the arrival of census officers and fill in the data correctly. He emphasized that all information provided by residents was guaranteed confidentiality.

"We hope that when our census officers come, please first accept the census officers, second fill in the data correctly, and third do not need to worry that the confidentiality of the data provided will be taken care of as best as possible," said Amalia.

Amalia said BPS had partnered with the National Cyber and Information Agency (BSSN), Telkom, and PT Peruri to secure the data collected during the census.

He also emphasized that the implementation of the Economic Census was not related to tax interests. The data collected is purely used for statistical purposes and policy formulation.

"So this census is for statistical purposes, not in the context of tax purposes. That is what the public needs to know. So once again, we will keep the secrets of individual and personal data," he said.

The implementation of the census door to door takes place from June 15 to August 31, 2026. BPS officers will visit households and business actors to conduct data collection. For residents who want to fill out the questionnaire independently, BPS also provides an online link that will be given by the census officer when conducting data collection.
