Adapted into a Film, "Philosophical Core" Introduces Stoic Basis to the Community

JAKARTA - The book "Filosofi Teras" by Henry Manampiring was adapted into a film of the same title. Ahead of its release this year, the book also received appreciation by entering the 100th edition.

The philosophy of the core is a self-development book that introduces the term stoic to the public. The book photographs social phenomena in society that are associated with the Stoa philosophy.

"This book can remove the stigma of mental health, for example, don't go to the doctor because the sick person only needs a psychiatrist. In this book, I also discuss going to a psychiatrist and discussing health," said Henry Manampiring in a book surgery session and trailer release on Sunday, July 12.

"However, this book has developed a lot and I am curious how a self-development book based on philosophy is dramatized. From the beginning, MD Pictures involved me in the opinion. It's not just a clone of the book. People can watch the movie without reading the book and can get this," he explained again.

Romo Setyo Wibowo who wrote the introduction in this book also added, "There is a new introduction and talks about Marcus' experience dealing with the Emperor's colleagues on this reality, his brother likes to play evil so this is the reality of our world."

Widi Lestari and Haqi Achmad as the writers of the script tried to develop the main plot which was felt to be relevant to the community and how to deal with it according to the philosophy shown in the book.

"The philosophy of this core has many meanings, you can interpret it according to your own conditions, but when adapting this story seems to have experienced in different forms, so try to be as close as possible to what you experienced," said Widi Lestari.

"The challenge is to make a film as close as possible but not too close. Usually writers want to put themselves in it but this film is not about the creator but about the story," said Haqi Achmad.

Director Affandi Abdul Rahman also added, "The difficulty is actually getting pleasure, happy because I have a talented cast, and it's a pleasure they gave me a challenge so we got a cooperation that makes us proud together."

The first trailer for the film Filosofi Teras, which was released on Sunday, July 12, tells the story of Alinea who initially felt that his life was going well; the salary was smooth, the lover was proposed, until the debt left by his late father changed everything. Meanwhile, the film "Filosofi Teras" is planned to be shown in Indonesian cinemas this year.
