DKI Satpol PP Reveals the Identity of a Bribe in Cilincing, Threatened with Severe Disciplinary Punishment
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Police (Satpol PP) has confirmed the alleged extortion (pungli) carried out by one of its members against the manager of the Red and White Learning House in Cilincing, North Jakarta.
However, the officer who claimed to be a member of the North Jakarta Satpol PP was actually serving in the East Jakarta Satpol PP.
The Head of the DKI Jakarta Satpol PP, Satriadi Gunawan, explained that the report regarding the alleged extortion was received by the North Jakarta Satpol PP on Friday, July 10. The report said that a Satpol PP member named Givson Samosir asked for money to the manager of the Red and White Learning House in RT 03/RW 04, Cilincing Village, Cilincing District.
Following up on the report, the North Jakarta Satpol PP conducted a search on July 10-11 by visiting the location and asking for information from a number of home study administrators.
From the results of the examination, it was learned that Givson Samosir came to the location on Monday, July 6, 2026 at around 14.30 WIB. At that time, he questioned the licensing of learning activities to other permits before finally asking for money from the manager.
"From the information obtained from the manager, it was true that the perpetrator had been contacted on behalf of Givson Samosir. The person in question questioned the permit for learning activities including other permits, which at the end of the perpetrator asked for Rp. 300 thousand but only gave Rp. 150 thousand, the perpetrator claimed to be a member of the Jakut Satpol PP," said Satriadi to reporters, Monday, July 13.
However, Satriadi emphasized that Givson was not a member of the North Jakarta Satpol PP as he admitted when he came to the location.
"We explicitly convey that the extortioner Givson Samosir as the Operational Staff of the Expert Level of the PPNS Section and the Operations of the East Jakarta Administrative Police Unit, is not a member of the North Jakarta Satpol PP," said Satriadi.
According to Satriadi, the person had been examined by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Satpol PP on Thursday, July 9, following a public complaint regarding the alleged extortion.
"The perpetrator on Thursday, July 9 has been examined by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Satpol PP for alleged extortion of citizen complaints and for disciplinary violations of employees who are threatened with the imposition of severe disciplinary punishment," he said.
DKI Jakarta Satpol PP stated that it regretted the incident and asked the public not to serve the request for money from the officers. Residents are also asked to immediately report if they find similar practices through the Jakarta Siaga 112 service or the complaint channel of the North Jakarta Satpol PP.
