Tragic! House Burns in South Lampung, Elderly Couple Dies in Embrace

LAMPUNG SELATAN - A fire that hit a house in Balinuraga Village, Way Panji District, South Lampung Regency, killed two elderly people (elderly), because they were trapped in the fire inside the house.

Head of the Damkar Section of the South Lampung Damkarmat Office, Rully Fikriansyah, said the fire occurred on Sunday, 12 at 23.30 WIB.

"As a result of this fire, two elderly people who are a married couple named Warjan (86) and Apong Mulyati (79), the victims died in each other's arms," said Rully, quoted by Antara, Monday, July 13.

Firefighters who arrived at the scene immediately carried out firefighting efforts so that the fire did not spread to surrounding buildings. After the fire was brought under control, officers found two victims dead inside the burning house.

"The incident is estimated to have occurred around 23.30 WIB, the officers received a report and immediately headed to the location. The team arrived at the location at 00.10 WIB and immediately carried out the blackout. Around 02.00 WIB the fire was extinguished and evacuated the two victims," said Rully.

According to him, based on information obtained by field officers, the fire was allegedly caused by mosquito repellent which triggered the fire.

"The victim's house is a bit far from other residents' settlements, so residents only found out about the fire after the house was 50 percent burned, the victim was then evacuated to the victim's child's house which was about one kilometer from the scene," said Rully.
