Police Arrest Young Man Dealer of Shabu While Transacting in Muara Baru Area, Barbuk and Cash Seized

JAKARTA - AS (24) a young drug dealer of methamphetamine did not flinch when he was arrested by members of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Sunda Kelapa Police in Gang 6 RT 021/017, Old Market Muara Baru, Penjaringan District, North Jakarta.

He was arrested for being caught distributing methamphetamine to his customers.

When arrested, the police confiscated 1 clear clip suspected of containing 1.60 grams of methamphetamine and an Infinix mobile phone used to transact drugs.

In addition, the police also confiscated cash of Rp. 350 thousand which was allegedly the proceeds of drug sales. For further processing, the man from Penjaringan was then taken to the Sunda Kelapa Police.

The Tanjung Priok Port Police Chief, AKBP Aris Wibowo, said the arrest began with information from the community regarding the illegal circulation of methamphetamine in the Muara Baru area, North Jakarta.

Furthermore, members of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Sunda Kelapa Police Sub-district carried out investigations and observations in the Muara Baru area, North Jakarta. Based on the investigation, members managed to arrest a dealer with the initials AS.

"From the suspect with the initials AS, evidence was seized in the form of one package of suspected drugs of the type of methamphetamine held in the suspect's left hand," said AKBP Aris when confirmed, Sunday, July 12, 2026.

Meanwhile, according to the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Sunda Kelapa Police, AKP Ery Suroto, from the results of the examination of the suspect, the evidence of drugs was obtained from a bandar with the initials L resident of Muara Baru, Penjaringan.

"The suspect AS admitted that he bought drugs with a pay-to-pay system to someone known as the suspect with the initials L. The suspect AS got drugs by meeting directly with L in the Muara Baru area," said AKP Ery.

The US suspect admitted to buying methamphetamine with a pay-to-pay system for Rp550 thousand with suspect L. After getting the narcotics, the suspect then distributed it to buyers for Rp600 thousand.

"The suspect AS has made transactions to buy and sell narcotics of the type of methamphetamine 3 times," he said.

Currently, the police are still developing the case related to the dark market of methamphetamine. Meanwhile, the suspect AS was charged with Article 114 paragraph (1) of the Law on Narcotics and/or Article 609 paragraph (1) letter a of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
