Vanessa Zee Presents a New Perspective on Heartbreak through Menjauh

JAKARTA - Vanessa Zee is back to coloring the music scene of the country by releasing her latest single titled "Menjauh". This song is a proof for Vanessa that she is not only good at singing, but also reliable in writing lyrics.

Through her new single, Vanessa tries to bring a new perspective in describing a breakup.

If heartbreak-themed songs are usually synonymous with quarrels or betrayals, this song actually portrays a quiet phase in a relationship that slowly stretches without being noticed.

"Menjauh" tells the story of two people who are not legally separated, but their intimacy slowly disappears because of ego and the loss of an effort to understand each other.

"Sometimes every heart needs distance or quiet space to be able to recover. But what if the distance turns out to form a new comfort that makes someone feel difficult to return? The more distance is maintained without trying to understand each other, the smaller the desire to survive. The shelter, it actually becomes an excuse to go away," said Vanessa in her statement, Sunday, July 12.

In working on this music project, Vanessa is not alone. She collaborated with Petra Sihombing to compose the lyrics.

Not only that, Vanessa's vocal performance quality has also matured thanks to the direction of Mohammed Kamga who acts as the vocal director.
