After becoming the 2026 World Cup Final Star, Shakira will hold a spectacular concert in Egypt
JAKARTA - Colombian pop diva Shakira will hold a concert in Egypt.
The show, which was scheduled to take place on November 28, was his comeback performance in the Land of the Pharaohs after almost two decades.
This concert will present the splendor of the stage with a background directly from one of the ancient wonders that still remain, the Egyptian Pyramids.
For Shakira, the stage of the Giza Pyramid Page is not new. He is recorded as having held a legendary concert at the same location in 2007 in the context of his global tour titled Oral Fixation.
The 49-year-old singer also revealed his impatience to greet the Egyptian public again in the near future.
"I am very happy to be able to perform in Egypt, specifically at the Giza Pyramids. I love you all," said Shakira, quoted by NME, Sunday, July 12.
Before departing for Egypt, Shakira is scheduled to make a new history in the world of football and entertainment next week.
He is confirmed to be the main star in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final halftime show, which will be held at MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey, on July 19.
The 11-minute performance curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin is touted as one of the most spectacular halftime shows.
In addition to Shakira, the stage will be enlivened by Madonna, BTS, Justin Bieber, Burna Boy, conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the PS22 Chorus choir, to iconic characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets.
Shakira's impressive performance series this year is part of the celebration of the era of the album "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran".
The album, which was released in 2024, successfully brought home the Best Latin Pop Album award at the 2025 Grammy Awards.
Through this album, Shakira managed to prove her capacity as a tough musician who is able to turn personal pain due to the breakup of her romantic relationship into a golden work of art that dominates the global music charts.
