The Latest US Attack in Iran Killed 17 More People
JAKARTA - The number of victims of the latest attack by the United States in Iran has increased to 17 people, while more than 100 others were injured, said the head of media affairs of the Iranian Ministry of Health, Hossein Kermanpour. Previously he said 14 people were killed and 78 others were injured.
"During the air raids in six cities in Iran on July 8-9, 115 people were injured, including two women. A total of 14 operations were carried out, 102 people received medical treatment and were discharged. Unfortunately, 17 citizens were killed, one of whom was a woman," Kermanpour said on X, Friday.
On Wednesday night, US military forces launched a series of attacks on Iran. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) claimed the move in response to Iranian actions against commercial vessels crossing the Strait of Hormuz.
As reported by Sputnik, Iranian forces then reported retaliatory attacks on US bases in Bahrain and Kuwait, while Iranian authorities accused Washington of violating a memorandum aimed at ending the conflict.
President Donald Trump then said the ceasefire between the US and Iran was no longer in effect. On Wednesday night, the US resumed their second round of airstrikes.
