Sidan and Keureuto Dams Inaugurated, Brantas Abipraya Strengthen the Foundation for Indonesia's Water and Food Security.

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto simultaneously inaugurated five dams in five provinces. The inauguration was held directly at the Meninting Dam, West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Friday, July 10, afternoon. Meanwhile, the other four were inaugurated hybrid, namely the Keureuto Dam and the Rukoh Dam in Aceh Province, the Jlantah Dam in Central Java Province, and the Sidan Dam in Bali Province.

PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero), a construction SOE with experience in the construction of strategic national infrastructure, is also proud of the inauguration of the Sidan Dam in Bali Province and the Keureuto Dam in North Aceh Regency, Aceh Province, which have been completed by this SOE. The presence of these two dams is a tangible proof of the government's commitment to strengthening food security, water security, and supporting the vision of Asta Cita towards a more advanced and sustainable Indonesia.

In his remarks, President Prabowo emphasized that the construction of dams was not merely building infrastructure, but a long-term investment to ensure food security and improve people's welfare. Therefore, the President reminded that the benefits of dams should be felt by farmers.

"Make sure that the water needed by farmers reaches the farmers. Farmers are food producers. Without food, there is no country," said the President.

As a contractor, Brantas Abipraya ensures that the construction of the two dams is carried out by prioritizing quality, work safety, and accuracy of quality so that it can provide optimal benefits for the community.

Strengthening the President's explanation, Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo, said that the construction of this dam is not merely presenting infrastructure, but building the foundation of national and state sovereignty.

For information, the Sidan Dam is present to strengthen the supply of clean water and clean energy. This 68-meter-high dam has a capacity of 5.76 million m³. Its main focus is to supply raw water of 1.75 m³/s, serving irrigation of 9,598 hectares through a network of 123.19 km, reducing flooding of 108 hectares, and generating energy of 8.08 MW.

Meanwhile, the Keureuto Dam is a vital infrastructure to ensure water availability for agricultural land, increase the productivity of the agricultural sector, reduce flood risk by reducing 627 Ha of flooding, and strengthen food security in Aceh and surrounding areas, providing raw water with a capacity of 650 liters per second for Kec. Paya Bakong, Kec. Tanah Luas, Kec. Pirak Timu, Kec. Matang Kuli, and Kec. Lhoksukon in North Aceh Regency. As well as the potential of floating solar power plants with a capacity of 179 MW and a hydropower plant of 6.3 MW.
