Project Pop Promises Nostalgia Full of Laughter and Surprises through the 'Forever Young - Forever Fun' Concert
JAKARTA - Project Pop is preparing to mark a long journey of 30 years in the Indonesian music industry through a special performance. The three-decade concert titled "Forever Young - Forever Fun" is scheduled to take place at Tennis Indoor Senayan, Central Jakarta, on August 8.
Promoted by Northstar Entertainment, this concert is designed not just as an ordinary music stage. This performance is prepared as a nostalgic space for cross-generational people who will combine interactive concepts, colorful visual arrangements, multimedia games, and the typical Project Pop mass choreography.
Chairi Ibrahim as a representative of Northstar Entertainment said that this concert was a form of tribute to the consistency of Project Pop who was able to maintain the relevance of their music to three generations.
"Project Pop is not just a music group; they are a cultural heritage of Indonesian popular culture that has managed to maintain its relevance for 30 years. The intelligent comedy character wrapped in multi-genre musical arrangements is their main strength," said Chairi at a press conference in Senayan, Central Jakarta, Friday, July 10.
"Through the 'Forever Young - Forever Fun' concert, Northstar Entertainment wants to present the ultimate nostalgia party with large-scale stage production standards to celebrate this extraordinary legacy," added Chairi.
The stage "Forever Young - Forever Fun" will also be enlivened by a series of collaborators. The presence of P Project, NPD (New World Center), to Inul Daratista is sure to give its own color while emphasizing the identity of Project Pop which is liquid and dares to break down genre barriers.
As for the Project Pop personnel, this 30th anniversary moment is a reflection of the loyalty of their loyal listeners, who have continued to grow together since the group was formed in 1996. This concert is also a proof of the solidarity of the personnel who remain solid after the departure of one of their iconic personnel, Oon, in 2017.
"Thirty years together is an invaluable gift. This concert we define as a celebration of gratitude and a reunion of a large family with Popop who grew up with our songs," said Yosi.
"We want this concert to be a place for all those present to release fatigue, relieve stress, and go home feeling happy," he added.
The group, which has produced at least 10 albums and more than 80 popular songs, is also busy preparing musical arrangements. They promise to present hit songs with a new touch that is fresher, without losing the original memory of the songs.
"What is certain is that we are preparing a musical with extra effort for this concert. We have prepared a special setlist and it will be very fun to sing together. There will be new arrangements, dynamic medleys, and special choreography that will challenge us and Popop who are present to shake together," said Gugum.
The high enthusiasm of Indonesian music lovers has been seen since the early ticket sales period. Tickets for the Early Bird and Presale categories, which opened on March 13, were immediately sold out in less than an hour.
Currently, General Sale ticket sales are still open with special bundling packages such as the "Goyang Duo" (two festival tickets) and "Goyang Rame" (four festival tickets) categories.
