Firli Was Reported Again To The KPK Supervisory Board By ICW, This Time Because Of A Helicopter Ride
JAKARTA - The head of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri has been reported by Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) for alleged ethical violations. This report relates to the use of helicopters when he traveled from Palembang to Baturaja.
This is the second report that ICW has made regarding the alleged ethical violation by Firli. In 2020, this anti-corruption organization had reported Firli to the KPK Council for alleged ethical violations during a hand arrest operation (OTT) at the Jakarta State University (UNJ).
"Today ICW has reported back to Firli Bahuri on suspicion of violating the code of ethics," ICW researcher Kurnia Ramadhana told reporters at the KPK ACLC Building, South Jakarta, Friday, June 11.
In addition to reporting to the KPK Council, ICW, said Kurnia, has also reported Firli's alleged receipt of gratification to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police.
"This is related to the criminal reporting that we have submitted to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police, but this time it is not a criminal problem, but an ethical issue regulated in the Dewas Regulation No. 2 of 2020, especially Article 4 which stipulates that every member of the KPK, one of which is the KPK leader, must act honestly in his actions. behave," he said.
Kurnia said Firli was not being honest when she rented the helicopter. The reason is that the former Deputy for Enforcement of the KPK did not report when he rented a helicopter.
"When we receive something that we consider a discount in the context of helicopter rental, Firli Bahuri is obliged to report it to the KPK. But we didn't see that happening, so we reported the person concerned to the KPK Council," he said.
He also confirmed that the report submitted this time was different from the ethical decision that had been handed down to Firli regarding the helicopter rental. It is known, some time ago, Firli had indeed been given a light ethical sanction by Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean et al in the helicopter rental.
The reason is that ICW reported Firli's dishonesty regarding the value of the helicopter rental. Based on the information they got, the price for renting the Eurocopter (EC) helicopter, code PK-JTO, that Firli was traveling in was around Rp. 39 million per hour. Meanwhile, Firli said renting the helicopter was Rp. 7 million per hour.
Thus, the KPK Supervisory Board should be able to explore deeper into the helicopter rental receipt given by the KPK chairman. Moreover, it has also attached its findings.
"The receipt was traced because the value was very odd. If we look further, Firli argues that one hour of helicopter rental is IDR 7 million, we don't see the amount like that, because four hours of around IDR 30 million we think it's far beyond that, because there is a difference around Rp140 million which was not reported by the KPK chairman," he explained.
"We attach some of our findings related to the comparison of helicopter rental prices in several companies. And indeed the figures presented by Firli in the council's trial listed in the council's decision are very odd and moreover the helicopters used are luxurious helicopters," he concluded.
