Mini Soccer Mayor Cup 2026 Strengthen the Synergy of Forkopimko and Community Elements
JAKARTA - The West Jakarta Administration City Government officially opened the 2026 Mini Soccer Mayor Cup tournament on Friday (10/7/2026) at Maroedja Sport Park, Meruya. This activity is the culmination of a series of celebrations for the 499th Anniversary of the City of Jakarta and welcoming the historic moment of five centuries of the DKI Jakarta Province.
For three days until Sunday (12/7/2026), this sports field which was inaugurated three months ago will witness the spirit of competition from 18 participating teams from local government elements, TNI-Polri, and various community groups in the West Jakarta area. Support was also present from national footballers Ismed Sofyan, Muhammad Ferrari, Rayhan Hanan, and Aditya Warman, whose presence is expected to be an inspiration for the young athletes who compete.
The Mayor of West Jakarta, Iin Mutmainnah, expressed his gratitude and deep appreciation for the opening and exhibition matches on the first day without obstacles. "Alhamdulillah from the beginning of the opening to the exhibition matches everything went smoothly. We hope that through this mini soccer tournament the synergy between Forkopimko, government, TNI, Polri, and the community can continue to be well-knit," he said, Friday (10/7).
This activity is not just a competition of ability on the green field. More than that, this tournament is proof of the togetherness of Forkopimko and all elements in maintaining the security and comfort of the region. "On the field we can compete, but in working we should not compete with each other, but should try to work together. The extraordinary support from all parties makes us more confident that West Jakarta residents will be more comfortable and safe to live here," added Iin.
Apart from strengthening the ties of brotherhood, this tournament also has an important mission as a container for finding talented athletes. The West Jakarta City Government through the Youth and Sports Sub-Directorate (Sudinpora) will monitor each participant's performance, and for those who show special abilities will be directed to enter the sustainable training track, ranging from the Student Sports Education and Training Center (PPOP) to special schools for athletes.
"Early construction is an investment for the future, so that we will produce successful athletes who will make the name of West Jakarta and Indonesia proud," explained Iin.
The location of the event at Meruya Sport Park also has a touching history. In the past, this land was known to the public as "Ki Amat Football Field", but now it has completely changed into a modern sports facility that is crowded with residents every day to exercise. In the future, the City Government does not rule out holding similar tournaments at other facilities in Kemanggisan and Rawa Buaya, to equalize access to sports for all residents.
Iin invited all residents to watch the exciting matches held in the afternoon, including the match between the Mayor's Team against the BPN Team, as well as the Police Team facing the Praja Satpol PP Team. He also hopes that this activity can become a routine annual agenda, as part of efforts to cultivate a healthy lifestyle in the community.
