The Number of Victims of the Ebola Outbreak in RD Kongoo Reaches 625 People

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Media said that the number of deaths due to the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo has now reached 625 people.

"There are 1,792 confirmed cases, and 625 cases of deaths," the ministry said, quoted by ANTARA from Sputnik, Friday, July 10.

According to the Ministry, the number of patients who have recovered from the disease has reached 295 people.

At the same time, Health Minister Roger Kamba said the government had added two provinces; Tshopo and Haut-Uele, to the list of provinces affected by the Ebola outbreak because two cases were found in each province.

The World Health Organization (WHO) in May 2026 has designated the Ebola outbreak in RD Congo and Uganda as a public health emergency of international concern.

The UN agency assessed that the risk of further spread in the region was considered high.
