Judge: Blueray Cargo Owner Gives Rp91.77 Billion Bribe to Customs Officials
JAKARTA - The Corruption Court of Justice at the Central Jakarta District Court stated that Blueray Cargo owner John Field was proven to have given bribes totaling Rp91.77 billion to Customs officials.
Presiding Judge Brelly Yuniar Dien said the bribe was given by John together with the Operational Manager of Custom Clearance at the Blueray Cargo Port, Dedy Kurniawan, and the Head of the Blueray Cargo Import Documentation Team, Andri.
"The transfer of money from Blueray Cargo to customs officials and employees in the document states the total cost of the bonus from July 2025 to January 2026 amounting to Rp91.77 billion," said the Chief Judge in the verdict hearing at the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court, Friday, July 10.
The Chief Judge explained that the bribe was given with the aim that Customs would try to get the imported goods belonging to the Blueray Cargo Group out of the supervision process at the Customs Directorate General of Customs.
In detail, the bribes given include Singapore dollars worth Rp61.3 billion; entertainment facilities and luxury goods worth Rp1.85 billion; and Rp30 billion in cash.
More specifically, the entertainment facilities provided were worth Rp1.45 billion and the luxury goods provided included one unit of Tag Heuer brand watch worth Rp65 million to Orlando and one unit of Mazda CX-5 car worth Rp330 million.
The presiding judge revealed that the customs officials who received bribes, including Rizal, Orlando Hamonangan, and Sisprian Subiaksono. The three are being tried in different trials.
In the case of alleged corruption in the environment of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance in 2025-2026, John Field has been sentenced to 2 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 300 million with 100 days in prison.
Meanwhile, Dedy and Andri were each sentenced to 1 year and 6 months (1.5 years) in prison and a fine of Rp. 200 million with 80 days in prison.
Thus, the three defendants were found guilty of violating the crime stipulated in Article 605 paragraph (1) letter a jo. Article 20 letter c jo. Article 126 paragraph (1) of the National Criminal Code jo. Article VII number 48 of Law Number 1 of 2026 concerning Criminal Adjustment.
