National Figures from JK to Jimly Attend Rachmat Gobel's Funeral

JAKARTA - A number of national figures, ranging from the 10th and 12th Vice President RIJusuf Kalla alias JK to the former Chairman of the Constitutional Court Jimly Asshiddiqie, attended the funeral of the late former DPR leader from the NasDem Faction, Rachmat Gobel at the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery (TMP) Park, Jakarta, Friday.

In addition, a number of DPR members from the NasDem Faction were also present at the funeral process, including Deputy Speaker of the DPR Saan Mustopa who was the inspector of the ceremony. The funeral ceremony was held in a military manner located in Block Z, TMP Kalibata.

"We all saw that the deceased was a good member of the DPR and practiced his religion well," said Saan when he was an inspector of the ceremony, reported by ANTARA, Friday, July 10.

At the funeral ceremony, Deputy Minister for Political and Security Coordinating Minister Lodewijk F. Paulus was also present. Later, a number of artists also attended the funeral, including Irfan Hakim to Christine Hakim.

The funeral procession was carried out at around 14.50 WIB, which was preceded by the reading of a speech by the ceremonial inspector. Then the deceased was buried and accompanied by the eruption of a typical gun for a military funeral ceremony.

Previously, at the house of mourning in the Tebet area, South Jakarta, a number of figures also paid their respects, such as the 7th President RIJoko Widodo, Golkar Party General Chair Bahlil Lahadalia, BP BUMN Head Dony Oskaria, and Deputy Chairman of Commission VI of the DPR RI Andre Rosiade.

Rachmat Gobel who was the Minister of Trade in the era of President Joko Widodo and also the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia for the period 2019-2024 breathed his last on Friday at 03.20 WIB in the early morning.
