President Didesak Copot Jampidsus after being dragged into corruption allegations

JAKARTA - The Anti-Corruption Youth Line held a demonstration at the Horse Statue, Central Jakarta, and the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung), South Jakarta today. They urged President Prabowo Subianto to remove Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah whose name appeared in the alleged corruption being handled by the National Police.

Faldo as the coordinator of the action said that his party considered that the condition was ironic in the midst of efforts to eradicate corruption. Because, the Attorney General's Office was dragged.

"Ironically, today, the prosecutor's office has become a source of problems in eradicating corruption. Just say the case of Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah who is suspected of hoarding the results of TPPU in the form of dollar, rupiah and gold bars," said Faldo.

Therefore, the Anti-Corruption Youth Front asked the Attorney General's Office to conduct a thorough evaluation to cleanse the institution of alleged criminalization practices and corruption scandals. This step is necessary to restore public confidence in law enforcement institutions.

"The rampant abuse of authority and indications of the involvement of high-ranking officials of the Attorney General's Office in the whirlpool of corruption cases are considered to have deeply damaged public confidence in the Adhyaksa Corps," he said.

Faldo assessed that the Attorney General's Office needed to carry out internal reform by taking action against prosecutors who were suspected of abusing their authority.

"Law enforcement must be based on justice, not orders. Remove and check Febrie Adriansyah in the case of alleged corruption that dragged him," he said.

Faldo emphasized that there should be no impunity for public officials suspected of involvement in corruption. Therefore, he asked President Prabowo to intervene.

"The law must not be selective. Allegations of the involvement of individuals in the Jampidsus in corrupt actions must be revealed openly," he said.

"Evaluate the total institution of the Attorney General's Office and ask the President of the Republic of Indonesia to immediately dismiss Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah," continued Faldo.

Febrie Adriansyah is known to have admitted that the house that was searched by the National Police's Corruption Eradication Task Force (Kortastipidkor) together with the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Metro Jaya Police in Sentul, Bogor, West Java, belonged to him.

From the house, investigators seized 74 kilograms of gold bars and cash in rupiah, US dollars, and Singapore dollars. The total value of the seized goods is said to reach around Rp. 476 billion.

Although he admitted ownership of the house, Febrie only said that the money and gold found had their owners without explaining further.
