Sukoharjo Regent Etik Suryani Caught by KPK OTT
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) held a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) last night, July 9. The Regent of Sukoharjo Etik Suryani and five others were secured in this activity.
"That the KPK conducted a closed investigation and a catch-up event occurred in the Soloraya area, Central Java. Tim secured a number of five people, one of whom was the Regent of Sukoharjo," said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters through his written statement, Friday, July 10.
These parties were then taken to Jakarta, specifically to the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, for further examination. They are now on their way by plane.
The silent operation was carried out because it was suspected to be related to extortion. However, Budi has not given details of the incident or initial evidence.
Official information will be conveyed through a press conference after the determination of the suspect after the forum or the title of the case.
"This case is related to the alleged extortion by the regent to the regional apparatus in Sukoharjo Regency."
