Kylian Mbappe: France's Road to World Cup Title Still Long

JAKARTA - France national team striker Kylian Mbappe reminded his teammates that his team's journey to win the World Cup title is still long.

France secured a place in the 2026 World Cup semi-finals after defeating Morocco 2-0 in a quarter-final match at the Boston Stadium, United States, Friday.

"Our path is still long. We know that the upcoming opponent is heavier than we have faced. We are ready for the next challenge," said Mbappe after the match, reported by Fabrizio Romano.

Mbappe was one of the decisive factors in Les Bleus' victory after scoring the opening goal in the 60th minute, before Ousmane Dembele doubled the lead six minutes later.

The victory ensured France became the first team to qualify for the 2026 World Cup semi-finals. Didier Deschamps' team is now waiting for the winner of the Spain-Belgium duel to compete for a ticket to the final match.

Despite successfully advancing to the top four, Mbappe emphasized that his team's focus was now on the semi-final match.

The 27-year-old striker assessed that France must maintain its best performance. Les Bleus themselves have now successfully recorded a third consecutive semi-final since the 2018 edition.

From the three World Cup editions, as reported by Antara, France managed to become champions in 2018 when it took place in Russia.
