South Ciawi Off-Ramp Groundbreaking Begins, Bogor DPRD Optimistic It Will Ease Traffic
BOGOR - The Chairman of the Bogor City DPRD, Adityawarman Adil, welcomed the start of the construction of the Ciawi Selatan toll exit lane (Off Ramp) which is considered to be a solution to reduce congestion while increasing community accessibility in the South Bogor area.
Adityawarman made the statement while attending the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of the South Ciawi Off Ramp at Lorena Sport Hub, Thursday, July 9.
According to him, the strategic infrastructure project is the result of synergy between the Bogor City Government and various stakeholders that have been realized through cross-sectoral communication and collaboration.
"So this is a tremendous breakthrough thanks to the communication that our Mayor has made to various parties, so that we can kick off this off-ramp today," said Adityawarman.
He hopes that the existence of the new access can facilitate community mobility, especially residents of South Bogor who have to detour through Ciawi Market Junction when they exit the Jagorawi Toll Road.
"Hopefully this will help accessibility for residents of South Bogor in particular, and residents of Bogor City in general. And hopefully this will be one of the accelerators of development in Bogor City," he said.
Meanwhile, Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim explained that the construction of the South Ciawi Off Ramp was the result of collaboration between PT Trans Jabar Tol (TJT), PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (SMI), the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR), and PT Sinar Mas which was facilitated by the Bogor City Government.
According to Dedie, the project responds to public complaints who have been experiencing traffic jams for years when returning to the South Bogor area from Jakarta.
"Until now, people in the South Bogor area if they want to go to the toll or Jakarta can go straight. However, the problem when they return they have to turn through Ciawi Market which is often jammed. The problem that residents have experienced for years has finally found a light at the end of the tunnel," he said.
The construction of the South Ciawi Off Ramp is supported through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds of PT Sinar Mas. The built lane has a length of about 600 meters with a width of about 3.7 meters, while all licensing and regulatory aspects are under the authority of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT).
The existence of the new lane is expected to be able to reduce vehicle density at Simpang Ciawi because road users no longer have to cross the Ciawi Market area to go to the South Bogor area.
A number of areas that are projected to benefit directly from this development include Bojongkerta, Kertamaya, Rancamaya, Cikaret, Cipaku, and Genteng villages.
In addition to facilitating traffic flow, the South Ciawi Off Ramp will also be used as an alternative route in emergency conditions and during congestion on the main road.
The government targets the completion of the construction of the South Ciawi Off Ramp in about one year so that it can be immediately utilized by the community.
