13th search, the police secure documents to computers from Cipete Apartment

JAKARTA - The joint investigation team of the National Police's Corruption Eradication Task Force (Kortastipidkor) and the Metro Jaya Police seized a number of documents, computer devices, and other evidence from an empty shop house (ruko) in the Cipete Selatan area, South Jakarta, which became the location of the 13th search in the investigation of the alleged three corruption cases.

Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol. Budi Hermanto said investigators were still carrying out an inventory of all evidence secured from the location.

"Now many documents have been secured by investigators, including computers and other items. We have not been able to identify and inventory all of what can be secured," said Budi, quoted by Antara on Friday, July 10.

According to Budi, investigators were forced to cut off the chain of the shop door on Jalan Asem II, Cipete Selatan, so that they could carry out a search to the third floor of the building. This step was taken because the building was empty and uninhabited.

"Investigators ensure that the action of forcibly opening the access goes smoothly and is purely for the purpose of investigation, considering that the three-storey shop was found to be unoccupied," he said.

Even though it is uninhabited, the search process is still carried out according to legal procedures by presenting witnesses from the local environment.

"Witnesses from the environment are here to witness that the search process carried out has been shown the search warrant and court order," said Budi.

The shop in Cipete is the 13th location that was searched during the joint investigation of the National Police's Kortastipidkor and the Metro Jaya Police. The location was known from the results of the investigation based on the testimony of witnesses, the results of the title of the case, and the search at 12 locations that had previously been searched.

Budi said investigators were still developing the case and did not rule out conducting searches at other locations if new clues were found.

Previously, the joint team of the National Police's Corruption and Crime Investigation Directorate and the Metro Jaya Police had carried out another search related to the investigation of alleged corruption and money laundering (TPPU) crimes related to PT PLN (Persero), PT Asabri (Persero), and PT Krakatau Steel.

The Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police confirmed the search activities, but could not provide further details because the investigation process was still ongoing.

"True," said Budi briefly.
