CNG for 3 Kg Cylinder Still Being Tested, Bahlil is Waiting for the Results of the Third Phase
KARAWANG - Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia said the trial of compressed natural gas or CNG for 3 kilogram cylinders is still ongoing. The government has not made a decision because the third phase of testing will only be carried out in mid-July.
Bahlil conveyed this after the launch of B50 biodiesel by President Prabowo Subianto in Karawang, West Java, Thursday, July 9.
According to Bahlil, the use of CNG in Central Java has been running for a certain size of tube. He said that 12 kg and 20 kg tubes are no longer an issue. The government's attention is now on the trial of a 3 kg tube.
"CNG is in Central Java, I just got information from the Governor of Central Java. If the 12 kg is no longer an issue, 20 kg is also no longer an issue. What we are still testing is a tube for 3 kg," said Bahlil.
CNG is natural gas that is compressed in a high-pressure tube. Because the pressure is different from LPG, the safety aspect of the tube becomes an important part of the test.
Bahlil said the 3 kg CNG cylinder has a pressure of around 200 to 250 bar. Therefore, the government is still waiting for the results of the next trial before making further decisions.
"The bar pressure is 200 to 250. Well, this is still being tried. The third phase is in mid-July," said Bahlil.
He said the first and second stages of the trial had been carried out. However, the third stage has not yet been entered so that the final results cannot be announced.
When asked about the progress of the trial, Bahlil answered lightly. He asked the public to wait for the results of the third phase first.
"Phase one is already, phase two is already, phase three is in mid-July, it has not been tried, it has been asked for the results," said Bahlil.
Bahlil said he would convey the latest developments after the trial was completed. He hopes the test goes well.
"Pray that the test is successful," he said.
