Have Tax Arrears? DJP Officially Sends Reminder Emails to Taxpayers
JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) of the Ministry of Finance has started sending official electronic letters (emails) to taxpayers who still have arrears as a reminder to immediately pay their tax obligations.
Through the Announcement Number PENG-39/PJ.09/2026, the DJP emphasized that the reminder email was an official government communication sent using an address with the @pajak.go.id domain.
"DJP has sent an official email as a reminder for taxpayers who still have tax arrears," quoted from the announcement, Thursday, July 9.
This policy is taken to improve the smoothness of tax administration as well as minimize the risk of tax payment delays by taxpayers.
"This email is a form of commitment from the DJP in helping to complete the tax administration of taxpayers so that it runs smoothly and without obstacles," he explained.
DJP also urges the public to be wary of similar emails sent from domains other than @pajak.go.id, because they are potentially fraudulent attempts.
Taxpayers who receive the notification are asked to first ensure the authenticity of the sender's address before following up.
The arrears can be paid through the Coretax DJP application by creating a billing code in the tax bill payment menu.
Furthermore, the billing code can be paid through various official channels, such as bank tellers, ATMs, mobile banking, internet banking, and e-commerce platforms that have provided MPN-G2 services.
To facilitate the payment process, the DJP also provides a tax payment guide book that can be accessed online, and the guide contains complete steps ranging from creating a billing code to completing payment.
In the announcement, the DJP reminded that the delay in paying tax arrears could result in sanctions in accordance with the applicable tax provisions, so that taxpayers are urged to immediately settle their obligations after receiving the official notification.
"Postponing the payment of tax bills can result in sanctions in accordance with applicable provisions," he wrote.
In addition, the DJP again reminded the public to be aware of various fraudulent schemes in the name of the institution.
The DJP emphasized that all tax services are provided free of charge, never asking for payment to a personal account, and do not send links outside the official government website.
