JAKARTA - A TNI service vehicle of the Maung type was involved in a single accident at the Slipi Toll offramp KM 9.800 west, Jakarta, Thursday, July 9, 2026 morning. Police suspect that the accident occurred after the driver experienced a micro sleep or fell asleep for a moment while driving the vehicle.

Head of Traffic Police, Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Rieki Indra Brata Manggala, said the accident occurred at around 08.30 WIB. The Maung vehicle with the police number 334-02 driven by a TNI soldier named Togi Boni Simatupang was traveling from east to west.

"Upon arrival at the scene, the vehicle allegedly lost control and hit the separator and the signpost. The driver is suspected of being sleepy or experiencing micro sleep," Rieki said in his statement.

As a result of the accident, two passengers suffered minor injuries. The male victim suffered injuries to both legs, while the female passenger suffered injuries to the face.

"Both victims were evacuated to AD Ridwan Meuraksa Hospital, East Jakarta, to receive medical treatment," said Rieki.

In addition to causing injuries, the accident also resulted in material damage to the Maung service vehicle and road facilities in the form of separators and signposts.

The PJR team and the toll road manager immediately went to the location, arranged traffic flow, carried out the scene of the crime (TKP), secured evidence, and evacuated vehicles.

"Further handling of the accident is now handed over to the Laka Unit of the Subdit Gakkum of the Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya for the investigation process," he concluded.
