KPK Seizes Singapore Dollars Related to the Management of Limited Production Forest Release Permits from the Head of the Kuansing DPRD 

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has seized Singapore dollars related to the management of the Limited Production Forest (HPT) release permit in Kuantan Singingi Regency (Kuansing). The seizure was carried out during the examination of Juprizal as the Chairman of the Kuansing Regency DPRD as a witness in the case that ensnared Kuansing Regent Suhardiman Amby on Wednesday, July 8.

"Investigators also seized money from JUP witness worth 12,000 Singapore dollars," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters through his written statement, Thursday, July 9.

Then the investigators also seized Rp. 15 million from the hands of Fahdiansyah who was the Assistant I of Kuansing Regency. "It is suspected to be related to the process of applying for the transfer of forest functions," said Budi.

During the examination, the KPK also investigated the bribery in the form of a Land Cruiser 300 GS-R for filling the position of the Regent of Kuansing Regency. The request for information was made to the Head of the Land Office of Logas Tanah Darat Syahferry, Head of the Plantation Service Andri Yama Putra, and Head of the Housing, Residential Area, and Land Service Ade Fahrer.

Then, the Head of the Administrative Section of the Kuansing Regency Government, Sigit Purnomo, members of the Kuansing DPRD, Dasver Librian, the Head of the General Section of the Kuansing Regency Government, Marel Hendra, and the Head of the General Section of the Kuansing Regency Government, Deswan Antoni, were also questioned.

"Investigators are deepening the material regarding the witness's knowledge of the bribe for the auction of the Regional Secretary's post to the Regent of Kuantan Singingi," said Budi.

"Then the investigators also investigated the process of applying for the transfer of functions of protected forests in Kuantan Singingi Regency, which was submitted to the Ministry of Forestry Ministry."

As previously reported, the KPK named three people as suspects in the alleged bribery of the filling of the Kuansing Regent's post after conducting a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) on Monday, June 29. They are Kuansing Regent Suhardiman Amby, Kuansing Regent Zulkarnain, and Ardiles as President Director of PT Mitra Ideal Consultant.

In the construction of the case, Suhardiman allegedly asked for one unit of Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR-S worth around Rp2.05 billion to the participants of the selection for the position of the Regional Secretary.

The request was fulfilled by Zulkarnain who bought the vehicle through a credit scheme using Ardiles' identity for financing applications.

In addition, the KPK also found other alleged receipts made by Suhardiman related to the process of releasing Limited Production Forest (HPT) areas. Investigators are said to be tracing the amount of receipts, the mechanism of giving to the party suspected of receiving at the Ministry of Forestry.
