Indonesia and India Agree to Restore Prambanan Temple

Yogyakarta - President Prabowo Subianto and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi agreed to restore Prambanan Temple. The agreement was conveyed during Prime Minister Modi's visit to the Prambanan Temple Complex, Wednesday, July 8.

The agreement was discussed in a bilateral meeting between the two leaders on Tuesday, July 7. According to President Prabowo, Prambanan Temple is not just a historic building, but a symbol of the great civilization of Nusantara which reflects noble values.

President Prabowo also assessed that Prambanan Temple has a special meaning for Indonesia and India. The relief of the Ramayana story carved on the walls of the temple is proof of the close relationship between the two civilizations since ancient times.

Therefore, President Prabowo hopes that the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Indonesia can further strengthen friendship as well as strengthen various mutually beneficial cooperation for both countries.
