Land Cruiser for Suap Kuansing Regency Head's Office Placed in Rupbasan after Being Seized by the KPK   

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) placed a Land Cruiser 300 GS-R which was a bribe for the position of the Regent of Kuansing Regency to the KPK's Custodial Property and Confiscated Goods (Rupbasan) on July 8. The car was brought by land after being found in the area of Pematang Siantar City, North Sumatra.

"This morning, the evidence in the form of a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 that was brought from Pematang Siantar using the towing service has arrived at the KPK's Seizure and Confiscation Property Storage House (Rupbasan) in Cawang, Jakarta," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters through a written statement, Wednesday, July 8.

The black-colored car is confirmed to be professionally maintained by Budi at the KPK Rupbasan. The goal is so that the value of the vehicle does not depreciate due to technical damage or a decrease in physical condition.

"Every evidence of seizure or state seizure that is under the management of the KPK, is professionally maintained at the KPK Rupbasan. Maintenance is carried out periodically, ranging from storage in adequate facilities, cleaning, heating vehicles, to checking the function of components to maintain the physical condition and economic value of assets," said Budi.

"This step is aimed at preventing the depreciation of asset values due to technical damage and deterioration of physical conditions," he continued.

Later, investigators will also call the party who is suspected of knowing the gift of the car to the non-active Regent of Kuansing Suhardiman Amby. So, said Budi, the investigation into the alleged bribery of the sale and purchase of positions can be completed.

As previously reported, the KPK named three people as suspects in the alleged bribery of the filling of the Kuansing Regent's post after conducting a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) on Monday, June 29. They are Kuansing Regent Suhardiman Amby, Kuansing Regent Zulkarnain, and Ardiles as President Director of PT Mitra Ideal Consultant.

In the construction of the case, Suhardiman allegedly asked for one unit of Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR-S worth around Rp2.05 billion to the participants of the selection for the position of the Regional Secretary.

The request was fulfilled by Zulkarnain who bought the vehicle through a credit scheme using Ardiles' identity for financing applications.

In addition, the KPK also found other alleged receipts made by Suhardiman related to the process of releasing Limited Production Forest (HPT) areas. Investigators are said to be tracing the amount of receipts, the mechanism of giving to the party suspected of receiving at the Ministry of Forestry.
