Bulog ensures that quality rice and safe rice are distributed to East Indonesia
JAKARTA - Perum Bulog ensures that the rice distributed to the public is safe, healthy, and meets quality standards even to the eastern part of Indonesia.
This commitment was emphasized through a direct review of rice stocks and quality at the Bulog Argapura Warehousing Complex, Jayapura, Papua.
Director of Perum Bulog, Lieutenant General TNI Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, reviewed the rice quality control process implemented by the company. Supervision is carried out from physical examination, water content testing, re-weighing, to testing the percentage of broken grains (broken) using laboratory equipment.
According to Rizal, the process is part of the quality control standard applied by Bulog to ensure that the rice received by the community is in the best condition.
"People don't need to worry and hesitate. Bulog ensures that the rice distributed is in good condition, healthy, hygienic, and quality. We not only maintain stock availability, but also ensure that the quality of rice is maintained through a strict supervision process so that people throughout Indonesia, including in Papua, get the best rice," said Rizal in a statement. official, Wednesday, July 8.
In addition to reviewing the quality of rice, Rizal also ensured the readiness of the Government Rice Reserve (CBP) stock in Papua. Currently, rice stocks throughout Papua have reached around 17,000 tons spread across various Bulog warehouses.
In the future, Bulog targets a strengthening of stocks to around 50,000 tons or an increase of almost three times to anticipate community needs while supporting various government programs, including the distribution of food assistance.
To maintain rice availability, supplies to Papua are strengthened through the mobilization of stocks from national production centers such as South Sulawesi and East Java. This step is taken so that the distribution of rice continues to run smoothly to various regions in Papua.
Rizal said Bulog would continue to strengthen its role in maintaining national food security through professional management of food stocks and distribution in accordance with the directions of the President of the Republic of Indonesia and the Minister of Agriculture.
"According to the directions of the President and the Minister of Agriculture, Bulog must be the best servant for the community in the field of food logistics. Therefore, we are committed to maintaining the quality of services and ensuring that the distribution of rice and other food commodities is carried out professionally, on time, and with the best quality so that it can meet the needs of the community to the easternmost corners of Indonesia," concluded Rizal.
Through strengthening quality supervision, increasing stocks, and sustainable distribution, Bulog emphasizes its commitment to maintaining national food security and ensuring that the public has access to safe, quality, and evenly available food from Sabang to Merauke.
