First Date, Youth in Kelapa Gading Target of Theft, Lucky to Have a Buser Pretend to Help Push Motor

JAKARTA - A woman with the initials SA (21) from Kelapa Gading was a victim of a motorcycle theft committed by a man she knew through Facebook.

In fact, the victim and the perpetrator only knew each other for 2 days through the application. Then the perpetrator with the initials FF invited the victim to meet in the Koja area, North Jakarta.

"I know him on Facebook. After that they chat, ask to meet the perpetrator. Meet in Semper round, continue to walk," said Samin, the victim's parents to reporters, Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

When meeting the perpetrator, the victim with the initials SA came riding a black Honda Beat motorcycle. Meanwhile, the perpetrator did not bring a vehicle.

"My son was riding a motorcycle, the perpetrator didn't have a motorcycle. When they met, the perpetrator was the one who brought the motorcycle," he said.

The perpetrator and the victim then went to a fast food restaurant in the Koja area. While parked on the motorcycle, the perpetrator apparently did not lock the handlebars of the victim's motorcycle.

They then continued their activities and left the motorcycle parking lot. The victim then asked the perpetrator for the key to his motorcycle.

"After that, fortunately, the motorcycle key was held by my son," he said.

Then when the two were at the dining area, it turned out that the perpetrator suddenly left the victim with the excuse of going to the bathroom. He also went to the motorcycle parking lot and immediately pushed the victim's motorcycle to run away.

"It turns out that the perpetrator pushed the motorcycle out of the parking lot without my son's knowledge," he said.

Apparently, when pushing the victim's motorcycle, the perpetrator's movements were known by members of the Koja Police's buser who were conducting area observation.

"The perpetrator pushed to buy gasoline, then at the step (push) the motorcycle by the buser. (the perpetrator) Asked for the completeness of the documents with the buser but there were none, then the perpetrator was secured to the Koja Police," he said.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of North Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Bima Sakti, said the perpetrator with the initials FF was a single player.

"Alhamdulillah today coincides with the activities of the Metro Jaya Police, namely the Berantas Jaya operation which focuses on incidents or perpetrators of curanmor here. The perpetrator is one person," said Kompol Bima to reporters at the location.

For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Articles 476 and or 477 with a maximum penalty of 7 years in prison.

Based on the perpetrator's statement, all of his targets were women. He looked for his victims from social media.

"From the results of the examination here, (admitted) this one time. However, it is still possible that there are other victims," he said.

Kompol Bima appealed to the public not to be too easily believed by people who are just getting to know each other.

"Don't give the person any goods or money or other valuables. We must increase vigilance against people who will commit crimes against us," he said.

Currently, the perpetrator is still in the Koja Police detention cell to answer for his actions. Meanwhile, the victim's Honda Beat motorcycle was returned to its owner.

"We also return evidence to the victim, where we have checked the legality and the evidence. We have a policy to deliver the evidence to the victim. That is one form of police service that we can provide to the community," he said.
