Brian Yuliarto Explains the Academic Task Force, University Professors Will Enter Priority Research
JAKARTA - Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto said the Academic Task Force was prepared to accelerate national priority programs. The Task Force will involve researchers and professors across campuses.
Brian explained that a number of major and strategic national programs require support for thinking, innovation, and research. Therefore, the government wants to gather academic staff from various universities.
"Several topics of major programs, national programs, national strategic programs, or national work programs need thinking, contribution of innovation, research," said Brian at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday, July 7.
According to Brian, the task force will contain researchers and professors from across campuses. They will support the acceleration of national priority programs through more targeted research.
"A task force consisting of all researchers and professors from across campuses has been formed to support the acceleration of national priority programs," he said.
Brian emphasized that the Academic Task Force was not a substitute for BRIN. According to him, BRIN will still be involved in the research cooperation.
"BRIN also entered. In BRIN there are also several research topics," said Brian.
He said the core of the formation of the Academic Task Force was acceleration. Professors, BRIN researchers, and universities will work together on certain topics so that research is not too broad.
"So some professors, researchers, BRIN, and universities will later work together on one topic. So that it is not too broad," said Brian.
Brian has not detailed the first topic to be worked on by the Academic Task Force. He only confirmed that BRIN researchers and universities would work on certain topics so that research would be more focused.
