NTB Police Chief ensures that suspects in the case of burning of students will be immediately determined
MATARAM - West Nusa Tenggara Police Chief Inspector General Kalingga Rendra Raharja ensured that the investigation into the burning of three students in Central Lombok Regency continued and the determination of suspects was attempted this week.
"The investigation is ongoing. We are trying our best so that this week the suspects can be determined and announced, so that all public questions get answers in a clear way," said Kalingga as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 7.
He said the investigators of the Central Lombok Police had increased the handling of the case to the investigation stage, which led to the determination of the suspect.
Apart from the legal process, the NTB Police will also escort the fulfillment of the right to restitution or compensation for the victims.
"We hope that this step can help alleviate the burden of the victims and their families," he said.
Kalingga reminded all managers of educational institutions, especially boarding schools, to strengthen supervision of the learning environment in order to prevent similar incidents.
"Pesantren must be a safe and comfortable place for students. Let's increase supervision and concern so that this kind of disaster does not happen again," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the NTB Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion, Zamroni Azis, said that his party was committed to accompanying the victims, both in the continuation of education and supervision of religious educational institutions.
"We are committed to strengthening supervision of pesantren. Currently we are also processing the transfer of education data of victims to MTs Negeri according to the wishes of the family, as well as preparing scholarships until they complete their education," said Zamroni.
