Manohara Says Her Biggest Expense is to Treat 12 Rescue Animals
JAKARTA - Manohara Odelia Pinot made a surprising confession regarding her spending priorities every month. Instead of spending money on branded goods or luxury hobbies, Manohara said that the needs of her pets were the most expensive.
"For dogs and cats (the biggest expense). Because there are many, my dogs are eight, cats are four," said Manohara when met in Senayan, South Jakarta, not long ago.
A total of 12 pets were treated directly at his residence with full responsibility.
"I take care of it, thank God I'm blessed enough to have a kennel boy. So it's very helped by the kennel boy at home," he explained about the home care system.
For Manohara, having pets is not just a hobby, but a long-term commitment. He also pays close attention to the medical health aspect for all his animals without exception.
"Having pets is a responsibility, so we have to make sure they are healthy, eating the best we can provide," he said again.
"We must also ensure that vaccines and others are up to date, of course, dogs and cats (the largest cost)," he added, emphasizing the importance of animal health protection.
Another interesting fact, the majority of the animals in his house are not the result of purchases from pet stores, but the result of rescues.
"Almost all of them were rescued, out of eight dogs, seven of them were rescued, the one who bought it was the oldest. That was before I was aware of adoption," recalled Manohara.
Although he was raising many dogs and cats at once, he admitted that there was no problem in bringing them together.
"They are okay, so it's safe. And thankfully I was helped by the kennel boy, so I didn't do it myself," he said.
When asked about the amount of special budget for the treatment, Manohara admitted that she did not have a definite figure.
"There is no special budget, it's up to them," he replied.
For animal beauty or grooming, Manohara also chooses a simple way and is done at home.
"I'm not the type who has to be groomed, so at home they are just washed and dried," he explained about the cleaning routine of his dogs and cats.
All pets are given free space in their homes without the need for excessive special places.
"They are all at home," said Manohara, who is also known as an environmental activist.
Manohara's real action in adopting this rescue animal is expected to increase public awareness about the importance of animal welfare.
"It is very important to raise these issues so that more people know what is happening today," he concluded.
