Turkey Prepares Domestically Made Electric Limousine Cars for NATO Summit Participants
JAKARTA - A special limousine version of Turkey's first domestic electric car, the Togg T10X SUV, will be prepared as a means of transportation for leaders during the NATO summit in the capital, Ankara, this week.
Ten special-edition T10X units with extended wheelbase have been added to the protocol fleet for the important summit of members of the military pact of 32 countries held on July 7-8.
The cars draw attention with their elongated bodies and lack of side doors, and feature Turkey's national red-white colors, as well as specially designed versions decorated with turquoise and traditional motifs.
These limousines are expected to operate on short-distance routes within the summit location at speeds of around 50 kilometers (31 miles) per hour, as reported by Daily Sabah and Anadolu Agency (7/7).
They are also expected to provide controlled transportation along the predetermined protocol route during the Summit.
Togg is backed by a consortium of large groups, including BMC, Zorlu Holding, Anadolu Group, and Turkcell, along with the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB).
Mass production of the T10X begins in 2022 before orders are launched in March 2023, with deliveries starting a month later.
Togg itself launched the T10F sedan model in Turkey last year, when it also started sales in Germany to mark its official entry into the European market.
