BRI Peduli Presents PLTS in Bojong Bandung Barat Village

BANDUNG - In line with the government's commitment to accelerate the transition to clean energy and realize national energy security, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk continues to strengthen its contribution through various community empowerment programs that are oriented towards sustainability.

Through the BRI Peduli Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, the Company distributed a 17.4 kWp solar power plant (PLTS) assistance equipped with a 43.2 kWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Bojong Village, Rongga District, West Bandung Regency.

The presence of the PLTS is expected to expand access to clean energy while improving the quality of life and productivity of people in areas that still have limited electricity supply.

Bojong Village is one of the villages in West Bandung Regency with the characteristics of hilly areas and most of the people have a livelihood in the agricultural sector, livestock, small-scale trade, and micro-businesses.

The relatively remote geographical conditions make the availability of basic infrastructure, including reliable access to electricity, have an important role in supporting economic activities and people's daily lives.

Through the utilization of PLTS, the community now has access to more sustainable electricity to support activities at night as well as increase business productivity. In addition to lighting residential areas and public facilities, electricity supply from PLTS is also used to support the operations of residents' businesses that require continuous energy availability.

The head of Bojong Apad Village, Sutisna, said the presence of the PLTS brought about changes that were felt directly by the community.

"After the PLTS arrived, we really felt a very real change. The village became brighter, people were more comfortable at night, children could study more calmly, and small business owners had the opportunity to increase their business productivity. People's lives became easier, safer, more productive, and gave new hope for the progress of our village," said Apad.

According to him, the benefits of PLTS are not only felt from the side of energy provision, but also arouse the optimism of the community about the future of their village.

"What I feel is the growth of people's spirit and optimism. Residents see that our village is no longer lagging behind and has received real attention. The presence of PLTS not only brings lighting, but also opens up greater opportunities for people to improve their quality of life and well-being," he added.

Apad hopes that the existence of PLTS can continue to be maintained and utilized optimally so that the benefits can be felt in the long term. He also hopes that more villages will receive similar empowerment programs so that access to energy and opportunities for improving welfare can be felt more widely.

"I also hope that empowerment programs such as those carried out by BRI can continue to be present in villages that still need it, so that more people can access energy, opportunities to develop, and a more prosperous life," he concluded.

The distribution of this PLTS assistance confirms BRI's commitment to not only provide financial services to the corners of the country, but also contribute to creating inclusive and sustainable development through the provision of basic infrastructure that provides real benefits to the community.

BRI Corporate Secretary Dhanny said that the PLTS assistance is a tangible manifestation of BRI's commitment to supporting the development of renewable energy, expanding access to sustainable electricity, and improving the quality of life and productivity of people in rural areas.

"This is a real commitment from BRI not only to provide banking services to the corners of the country, but also to support the improvement of people's quality of life, strengthen the village economy, and encourage sustainable development," he said.
