KPK to Investigate Alleged Leakage of OTT Information Kuansing-Langkat

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will investigate the alleged leak of information on two hand-capture operations (OTT) in Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) and Langkat.

This was conveyed by the acting director of investigations, Achmad Taufik Husein, when asked about the reason why the parties to be secured in the two silent operations already knew the team's presence in the field. According to him, OTT should not be so easy to know because it is closed.

"So, it still needs to be further investigated by the KPK team," said Taufik as quoted from the KPK RI YouTube, Monday, July 6.

Unlike a normal investigation, Taufik said, the arrival of the team is usually not known. "Well, when you go out into the field, there may be indications that are known," he said.

Not only will the KPK investigate the party suspected of leaking information, it will also evaluate the implementation of the silent operation. "Whether at the time it may go down to the field it is not together or in a group, one at a time or what ... how to avoid things that may not leak from within but from outside," said Taufik.

"So this still needs further in-depth research for why the outside parties know, then the information that the team will go down," he continued.

During the silent operation in Kuansing, the arrival of the team was allegedly known in advance because there was an attempt to remove evidence. In this case, Suhardiman Amby as the Regent of Kuansing and the Regional Secretary of the Regency of Kuansing Zulkarnain have been named as suspects in the sale and purchase of posts.

In addition, there are other alleged receipts that are suspected to be related to the release of limited production forests.

Meanwhile, in Langkat, the handover of money was canceled because the Langkat Regent, Syah Afandin, knew the presence of the anti-corruption commission team.

Even so, the KPK finally named Syah Afandin and Yaqub Abdhal Al Mu'arif as private parties who were also his team in the 2024 Pilkada as suspects of alleged project bribes in the Langkat Regency area.

Syah Afandin is also suspected of receiving other gratuities related to the area. Among them are related to the auction of the camat position to the procurement of school uniforms.
