Prabowo receives a state visit from Singaporean PM Lawrence Wong at Istana Merdeka
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to receive a state visit from Singapore Prime Minister (PM) Lawrence Wong at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday, July 6. The meeting is part of the annual leaders retreat agenda aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
This visit was the second leaders retreat that brought President Prabowo together with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong since the two of them served as the heads of their respective governments. The forum became a forum for the two leaders to evaluate and expand cooperation in various strategic sectors.
In addition to discussing the implementation of various agreements that have been reached previously, the two leaders will also exchange views on regional dynamics and the development of global issues that affect the interests of Indonesia and Singapore.
The series of agendas began with a state welcoming ceremony at the Merdeka Palace before the two delegations held official meetings. The leaders retreat is expected to further strengthen the strategic partnership between Indonesia and Singapore, which have been closely intertwined.
"Prime Minister Lawrence Wong for the Singapore-Indonesia annual leaders retreat organized by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto," said a statement on the official website of the Singapore Prime Minister's Office.
During the meeting, the two leaders are scheduled to discuss various opportunities to strengthen mutually beneficial collaboration for Indonesia and Singapore.
President Prabowo and PM Lawrence Wong will also receive a report on the progress of the implementation of various bilateral cooperation projects since the last leaders retreat held in Singapore in June 2025. In addition, the two will exchange views on various regional and global issues.
During his visit to Indonesia, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong, Coordinating Minister for Public Services and Minister of Defense Chan Chun Sing, Minister of Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister of Social Development and Family Masagos Zulkifli, and Minister of Manpower and Minister of Energy and Science and Technology Tan See Leng.
The series of agendas at Istana Merdeka will begin with a state reception ceremony led directly by President Prabowo Subianto before the two leaders begin the leaders retreat meeting.
