TASPEN Invites the Community to Increase Awareness of Fraudulent Schemes Targeting Retirees

JAKARTA - PT TASPEN (Persero) urges all participants and the public to increase vigilance against various fraudulent schemes in the name of TASPEN. The modus continues to evolve, ranging from the use of fake social media accounts, messages via WhatsApp, the spread of phishing links, the forgery of official letters or documents, to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology to create content, images, sounds, and videos that resemble the official identity of the company.

One of the modes that is currently found is the offer of a program to distribute assistance funds for retirees through unofficial communication channels that have the potential to mislead the public.

TASPEN Corporate Secretary, Henra, emphasized that the protection of participants is one of TASPEN's main priorities in the face of the increasing number of various digital crime modes that use the company's name.

"TASPEN is always committed to protecting participants from various potential digital crimes that use the company's name. We urge participants and the public to always verify any information received and not easily provide personal data to parties whose authenticity cannot be ascertained," he said, Sunday, July 5.

Based on the National Digital Literacy Index released by the Ministry of Communication and Digital, the digital literacy level of the Indonesian people is at a score of 3.54 out of 5. Although it continues to show improvement, the aspect of digital security still needs to be strengthened in the midst of the development of various cybercrime modes. In addition, data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and a number of studies show that the elderly group still faces challenges in understanding digital security and verifying the information received.

This condition is of special concern considering that most TASPEN participants are retired groups, so increasing digital literacy is one of the important steps to protect participants from various forms of fraud that use technology and digital media.

As a form of protection for participants, TASPEN appeals to the public to apply the principle of "Resist, Ensure, Report" in responding to any information received. The public is expected to refrain from immediately believing the information that is circulating, ensuring the accuracy of the information through the official TASPEN channel, and reporting accounts or parties that are suspected of fraud.

TASPEN emphasized that the company never asked participants to pay certain administrative fees, send OTP codes, PINs, passwords, or other confidential data to obtain services or program benefits.

TASPEN also invites the public to obtain information only through official channels, including the official TASPEN website, TASPEN official social media accounts, the Andal by Taspen application, TASPEN branch offices, and the TASPEN Call Center 1500 919. This preventive step is in line with TASPEN's commitment as a Center of Excellence in the field of social security that prioritizes aspects of security, transparency, and convenience for participants.

This is also a form of real support for President Prabowo Subianto's Asta Cita vision in improving the welfare and protection of ASN and State Officials.

TASPEN is committed to ensuring that the rights of participants are met in a timely, safe, and accountable manner through reliable services and sustainable protection for all participants.
