Pro-Kontra Sarwendah is heating up, petitions to boycott and petitions to counter are both emerging.
JAKARTA - Three petitions calling for a boycott of the artist Sarwendah on the Change.org platform continue to receive support from netizens. As of Saturday, July 4, the total signatures from the three petitions have exceeded 62 thousand supporters and the number is still increasing.
The first petition titled "Cancel Sarwendah from Social Media" became the most supported. The petition, which was made on June 29, 2026, invited the public to stop supporting Sarwendah's promotional activities and asked the company to reconsider its commercial cooperation with her.
The initiator of the petition argues that promotional cooperation should be stopped until the polemics that are of public concern are clear.
The second petition entitled "Boycott Sarwendah" was started on July 2, 2026. The initiator called the movement a response to various controversies that emerged after Sarwendah's divorce from Ruben Onsu.
They invited the public to provide support as a form of conveying aspirations to issues that are considered to need public attention.
Meanwhile, the third petition titled "Boycott and Cancel Sarwendah from All Social Media and Television" has also begun to gather support. The initiators asked television stations and social media platforms to stop cooperating with Sarwendah on the grounds that public figures have a great influence on the community.
The three petitions are still open so that the number of signatures can continue to increase. On the other hand, a counter petition also emerged calling for the cessation of blasphemy and slander against Sarwendah as a form of rejection of bullying on social media. The initiator of the petition invites the public to maintain social media ethics and avoid cyberbullying against anyone.
Until now, Sarwendah has not given a specific response to the three boycott petitions. In the midst of the controversy that has developed on social media, the legal process related to the child custody lawsuit filed by Ruben Onsu against Sarwendah is still ongoing at the South Jakarta District Court.
