Desak Made Sabet Emas World Climbing Series Krakow 2026

JAKARTA - Indonesian female speed climbing athlete Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi won the gold medal in the women's individual speed event at the 2026 Krakow World Climbing Series in Poland, Saturday.

"Alhamdulillah Desak won gold, this is the fruit of the hard work of athletes and the team as a whole," said Assistant Coach for the Indonesian Speed Discipline Climbing Team, Fitriyani, when contacted by ANTARA from Jakarta, on the sidelines of accompanying the team.

Based on the world climbing page, Desak recorded a time of 6.54 seconds in the final round with a 4 lane format which was followed by four participants.

In that round, she competed against three other athletes, namely Natalia Kalucka and Aleksandra Miroslaw (Poland), as well as Emma Hunt (United States).

For the second position, the host representative, Kalucka, who recorded a time of 6.62 seconds. Meanwhile, the bronze medal was held by Hunt with a time of 11.37 seconds.

Before fighting in the semifinals, Desak fought Hunt, Kalucka, and Yuju Mou (China) which was also held in a four-lane format.

Meanwhile, in the other four lanes, Natalia Kalucka competed against Miroslaw, Leslie Adriana Romero Perez (Spain), Polina Khalkevych (Ukraine).

From each of the four lanes, two best time records managed to advance to the final round, namely Desak and Hunt and Kalucka and Miroslaw.

Meanwhile, the steps of the other two Indonesian representatives, namely Raji'ah Sallsabillah and Kadek Adi Asih, were forced to stop in the quarterfinals. They previously qualified from the qualifying round and the 16 best which was attended by 32 participants.

To participate in the World Climbing Series Krakow 2026 in Poland, July 3-5, the Indonesian rock climbing team brought seven athletes to compete in the series. They consist of four male athletes and three female athletes.

In addition to the three female athletes, the four male athletes who competed were Raharjati Nursamsa, Aditya Tri Syahria, Veddriq Leonardo, and Antasyafi Robby Al Hilmi.

In addition to the individual men's and women's numbers, the seven athletes also participated in the men's relay, women's relay, and mixed relay.
