Iran warns foreign military not to interfere in Strait of Hormuz
"The Strait of Hormuz is not a stage for forces outside the region to show off military strength. As a responsible power and guarantor of security in the strait, Iran warns against any military activity in this sensitive waterway," Gharibabadidi said on the X platform.
The statement was made in conjunction with Gharibabadi's upload, which quoted a joint statement by Britain and France on the Strait of Hormuz.
In the statement, Britain and France said they were ready to deploy a broader Multinational Military Mission to support freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
In response, Gharibabadi said the security of the Strait of Hormuz was in the hands of coastal countries.
"Those who create a crisis will be responsible for the consequences of their reckless actions. This is a serious warning," he said.
Meanwhile, the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the US, which was mediated by Pakistan, came into force on June 18 after being signed electronically by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and US President Donald Trump.
The agreement became a framework for ending the conflict and resolving various issues that are still disputed between Iran and the US through negotiations.
